Details of major residential development submitted

In association with Midlothian View, Libermove present details of noteworthy planning applications submitted to the Midlothian Council.

An Isle of Man property development company, Dandara Group has submitted details of its planned major residential development on the outskirts of Eskbank. The site comprises of two areas divided by Lasswade Road near the Melville Golf Centre. The area to the north of Lasswade Road (‘Larkfield West’) amounts to approx. 5Ha and the area to the south (‘Larkfield South’) ,2.8Ha.

Planning Permission in Principle for the Masterplan was given for these sites on 25th May 2016. As reported in the recent Kippielaw article, Gladman Developments Ltd, a land development company successfully overturned a decision by the local council to deny planning permission by appealing to the Scottish Government. Upon successful appeal Gladman sold the site to Dandara, who has submitted the Design and Access Statement. According to their website Dandara is one of the UK’s largest independent property development companies, with over 10,000 happy customers and more than 100 industry awards for design and quality.

The design statement sets out a range of houses including two, three and four bed terraced houses together with three, four and five bedrooms detached and semi -detached houses.

The mix of houses is as follows:
– 16 five-bedroom houses
– 64 four-bedroom Houses
– 16 three-bedroom Houses
– 22 two-bedroom Houses
– 16 two bedroom apartments

134 units in total

There are also plans for incorporating public art and a play area into the site. You can register interest in the development on the Dandara website.
