Dalkeith Campus Swimming Pool

Written by Dalkeith High School S1 Journalists Eilidh Mackay, Annelise Hoy and Claire Hogarth

Are you interested in swimming, but unsure where to start? Let us tell you about an exciting and affordable opportunity in Midlothian! With a range of facilities and very helpful staff, Aquatic Learning classes could be right up your street. Lessons are available for 3 to 10 year olds, and take place Monday to Friday. Whether you are a complete beginner or a confident swimmer, there will always be something for everyone.

There are several pools on offer. If you want to loosen your muscles then there is a 25 metre pool that is fairly cold – that’s half the size of an Olympic pool! If you prefer shorter and warmer pools then there is a smaller one which is approximately 15 metres. After a big swim you can go and chill out in the Jacuzzi, sauna, the steam room and the refreshing cold shower. There is even a gallery for parents to sit at.

Also, there are a range of different activities to do! As well as the swimming lessons, there are life guarding sessions, Water Babies for Toddlers, and Swimfit for children to help prepare them for joining a swimming club. If that’s not enough to convince you to come along, there are free sessions for Dalkeith High and St. David’s pupils from 7-8pm on Fridays.

So grab your pool noodles and come join us!
