During this time of lockdowns and tier changes Facebook pages have been great at keeping people in touch with each other and families. This year we have seen the Facebook page Worldwide Santa Christmas Eve Jingle. It has indeed being worldwide with people joining with their Christmas wishes. The Facebook page is asking that churches ring their bells on Christmas Eve at 6.00 worldwide in their time zone for 2 minutes and asking families to join in by children ringing their own bells outside their homes.

People have being buying or children making all sort of bells to join in the fun and let Santa know where they live

The churches will also bring the Christmas message to all and here in Dalkeith and Danderhall we have St David’s Roman Catholic Church, thanks to Father Andrew Garden, St Nicholas Church of Scotland thanks to Reverend Sandy Horsburgh, St Mary’s and St Leonard’s Episcopalian Church thanks to Reverend Peter Harris and Newton Church of Scotland thanks to Reverend Andrew Don and Reverend Keith Mack.

Special thanks to the bell ringers in the churches who are volunteering their time on Christmas Eve and to all our children with their own bells

Let’s make a cheerful sound for all the people who maybe on their own this Christmas and to bring some hope and joy to all in our communities
