The First Minister was in Dalkeith today to see the work being done by One Dalkeith.

She visited the One Dalkeith building in Eskdaill Court, Dalkeith. During her visit the chair of One Dalkeith, Douglas Strachan, explained to the First Minister all about the development trust, the building and the plans they have for both for the building and events in the community.

She was impressed with the building and what One Dalkeith has achieved so far.

Nicola Sturgeon joined the weekly guitar group based in the hub and sang along to a rendition of the Monkees “I’m a believer.”

Following One Dalkeith’s Hallowe’een event at the weekend the First Minister was asked to draw the winner of the Pumpkin Trail, with the winner receiving an iPad.

The Dalkeith Arts were also in the building for their weekly session and the First Minister spent time with the group.

With the general election campaign in full swing the visit attracted a lot of press and media as well as strong support from the local SNP branch.

Midlothian SNP candidate, Owen Thompson, was on hand to show Nicola Sturgeon around and introduce her to various local people.

Prior to visiting One Dalkeith the First Minister went to Woodburn to see the work of the Grassy Riggs group.
