One Dalkeith

An invitation from One Dalkeith to a meeting for Dalkeith local businesses on Wednesday 18th May 5:30pm to 7:30 pm to be held in the Board Room of the newly restored Dalkeith Corn Exchange.

This is an opportunity for you to learn about and maybe even take an active role in the ongoing development of the Dalkeith business community.

There are a number of new and exciting initiatives which are destined to have a positive impact on all aspects of commerce within Dalkeith town centre and in the wider local area beyond.

One Dalkeith have organised a number of key note speakers to update you on key economic development activities that will directly impact upon Dalkeith and its communities.

Event Programme:

The Borders Railway Project an update on business opportunities within the Tourism Sector: Fergus Watson Tourism Development Programme.

Dalkeith Country Park which is currently undergoing a significant upgrade to what will become a major regional visitor attraction: Andy Elmer.

Town Centre Redevelopment is clearly a very important issue for both the local community and business interests: Darren Imrie and colleagues will give us an update on the current situation.

Midlothian Business Gateway have advisers looking to link up with local businesses to offer a wide range of support services: Jane Crawford will give an overview of these services.

One Dalkeith is a recently formed independent organisation made up by local volunteers who are interested in safeguarding and developing all aspects of the Dalkeith local area wellbeing. It has representation from both local community councils – and is moving towards incorporation into a Community Development Trust: Douglas Strachan, a local architect and Chair of One Dalkeith will also give an overview of this new local initiative.

Not only will you learn how these initiatives could positively impact your business – there will also be an opportunity, if you choose, to take a more proactive role in some of the active and ongoing developments.
