Councillors and staff at Midlothian Council have expressed their sadness on hearing of the death of Bill Prentice.
Bill was a stalwart of the Bonnyrigg community for many decades, particularly in helping provide activities for older people.
In later years, he had a very successful show on Black Diamond FM, along with his friend Ted, and was always willing to take his extensive music collection out to community groups.
Bill also served for many years on the Board of Midlothian Voluntary Action (MVA).
