An award-winning indoor market is coming to Dalkeith to provide pre-loved items at a fraction of the original price.

Winning the Most Outstanding Scottish Indoor Market 2025 award, Too Good To Throw market currently runs events across Edinburgh, Glasgow and Lanarkshire, now bringing their ‘indoor car boot sale’ to the Dalkeith Community Campus.

The fully-indoor event will take place on Saturday the 30th of August and will feature around 50 stalls, selling a wide variety of pre-loved, new, and nearly new items at a reduced cost.

Fueled through a passion for re-use and reducing waste, Too Good To Throw market events aim to make sustainable shopping accessible and affordable.

Market founder Leann Gillespie explained, “We started the ‘Too Good To Throw’ markets three years ago because we felt there was a real gap for indoor preloved shopping experiences. Something accessible, affordable, and genuinely exciting.”

Selling items such as designer clothing and footwear, toys and games, books and musical instruments, alongside antiques, collectibles and homeware, many of the previous events’ stalls have been hosted by local individuals and small businesses, supporting local business in the areas.

“Many of our stallholders are local individuals decluttering or upcycling, while others are small businesses. We also love supporting local businesses, who are welcome to join us on the day to showcase what they do to a new audience and boost their local profile”, Leann explained.

“With the cost of living hitting so many families, we all need to think more carefully about how we shop. Our events give people the chance to buy fantastic quality items at a fraction of the cost — whether it’s toys, kids’ clothes, homeware or even designer fashion. Some of the best bargains we’ve seen include a brand-new Shark hoover for £5, £400 wine glasses for £12, a Barbour coat with tags for £20.”

Offering a market for locals to de-clutter and up-cycle, alongside giving people a chance to buy high-quality items at a reduced costs, Too Good To Throw markets aim to encourage waste reduction and make preloved shopping accessible for everyone.

The market will take place on the 30th of August at the Dalkeith Community Campus, more information can be found on their website below.
