Restoration Yard within Dalkeith Country Park.
Written by Ian Gardner, Rosslyn Chapel Trust and Midlothian Tourism Forum
Midlothian Tourism Forum is calling on all local businesses and organisations which work in tourism, hospitality and retail to get involved in its work this autumn and winter.
The Forum, which comprises representatives from local businesses, Midlothian Council and VisitScotland provides networking opportunities, marketing support and engagement with public bodies. It has published details of its next two meetings, which have been organised to support businesses through further difficult trading conditions.
The next meeting will be on 20 September at Dalkeith Country Park, with the theme of ‘adding value’ providing case studies and practical examples to inspire others. A subsequent meeting is planned on 24 November at the National Mining Museum Scotland, with the theme of ‘business resilience’.
Ian Gardner, Chair of Midlothian Tourism Forum, said: ‘We know that our members’ meetings are very valuable for sharing ideas and updating each other on new information and opportunities. With trading conditions set to become even more challenging over the next few months, I would urge any business working in tourism and hospitality to get involved and engage with our work. Membership of the Forum, at just £80 per year, is open to everyone working in these sectors and is sure to bring many business benefits just by working more closely together to attract more people to come to Midlothian and encourage them to stay for longer in our area.’
