Midlothian Innovation Centre, Roslin
Written by Midlothian View Reporter, Liam Eunson
The Midlothian and East Lothian Chamber of Commerce have announced Midlothian Innovation Centre (MIC) as its first ever community partner, marking the launch of a new partnership model designed to strengthen links with key business ecosystems across the region.
MIC is home to one of Midlothian’s most diverse business communities, with tenants ranging from pet groomers and takeaways to construction firms, merch printers, framers, accountants, digital creatives, plumbers, a garden centre and more.
Visitors can get their hair and nails done, unwind in the award winning Head Spa(ce), grab food, visit the gym, (soon!) get a tattoo, pick up household items, let their kids join a kung-fu class, and even have their car MOT’d — all in the same building.
Matt Cameron, Partnerships Executive at the Chamber, explained:
“MIC is one of the most unexpectedly vibrant business communities in Midlothian. You’ve got makers, trades, creatives, food businesses, service providers and entrepreneurs all building side by side — it’s exactly the kind of ecosystem we want to champion and support.”
As part of the partnership, tenants at MIC will gain closer links to Chamber events, networking opportunities, and business support services. The Chamber will also work with MIC’s management team to showcase the variety of businesses within the Centre and help connect them with the wider Midlothian and East Lothian business community.
Cameron added:
“This partnership is about connection. Connecting MIC tenants to new opportunities. Connecting the Chamber to the beating heart of local enterprise. And connecting our region through the kind of relationships that help businesses thrive.”
A dedicated MIC Business Spotlight is planned for early 2026, which will further highlight the creativity, talent, and growth happening within the Centre.
This marks the first of several planned Community Partnerships aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Chamber and business parks, hubs, and ecosystems across the region.
