Midlothian Conservatives’ have selected Rebecca Fraser to challenge Labour’s Danielle Rowley for the marginal Midlothian seat.

Rebecca had a successful career in the hotel industry across the United Kingdom before settling down near Lauder in 2004. She has been married for 21 years and has two teenage sons.

Rebecca has a record of community activism, serving on her local community council. She led a successful campaign objecting to a controversial planning application, becoming the planning representative working with planning officers’ and the community.

Rebecca said:

“I am so proud to have been selected as the Scottish Conservative & Unionist candidate for Midlothian. If elected I will work tirelessly for the people of Midlothian and put local priorities first. The time has come to move on from the divisive independence debate and get Brexit done so we can move forward together as a country.

“Midlothian needs an MP who will champion local causes working with the council and the various community groups across the county. I will fight for fairer funding, improved public services and investment from both the Scottish and UK Governments”.
