Following on from the View where Midlothian Councillor David Virgo announced his defection to the SNP, Midlothian’s Conservatives have told the Midlothian View:
“The worst-kept secret in Midlothian politics has finally been confirmed by Councillor Virgo.
“It is incredibly disappointing that he believes the SNP are the best party to deliver for our communities when nothing could be further from the truth.
“SNP politicians in Edinburgh have failed our region for two decades and forced people to pay more in tax but get less in return from their local services.
“Scottish Conservative councillors in Midlothian will continue to focus on the issues that really matter to local people. We will also be fighting to get our excellent MSP candidates elected in May to help stop an SNP majority and their independence obsession, which Councillor Virgo now seems happy to support.”
