Restaurants in Loanhead and Dalkeith are celebrating after being rated the two best in Midlothian by reviewers on a leading global Website.

The Radhuni on Loanhead’s Clerk Street and Itihaas on Dalkeith’s Eskbank Road came out first and second respectively in Midlothian in TripAdvisor’s latest summary of restaurant customers’ assessments of their meals.

Matin Khan, founder and Executive Chef of both restaurants, said: “It’s marvellous to have just one customer reporting they had a great dining experience. Our pride is even greater when customers are giving us consistently top ratings across the board. Theirs are the opinions which matter most to us.”

UK trade magazine Curry Life voted Matin its Curry Chef of the Year for 2024. The Radhuni, which received an average 4.6/5 rating in more than 900 reviews, was named the UK’s top curry restaurant and is one of only a handful of Indian-style restaurants in Scotland to have been awarded an AA Rosette for culinary excellence.

Managing Partner of Itihaas and Radhuni Habibur Khan added: “At The Radhuni and Itihaas we insist on the best possible quality in everything – food, service and atmosphere. The results speak for themselves.”
