Wednesday November 9th 2016
A public debate with key stakeholders will be held on the evening of Tuesday 15th November at Penicuik Town Hall, 7-8.30pm, to look at developing proposals for cycling in and around Penicuik.
The public will be given their say on important new cycling and walking initiatives by both the Council and local campaign groups aimed at increasing active travel in the county. Free maps and cycling accessories will also be available on the night.
The event will include sessions on the Midlothian Active Travel Plan, RUTS’ climate change fund application and more general initiatives. Midlothian Council will give a presentation on county-wide initiatives before we look more specifically at opportunities for Penicuik area in 2017.
Commenting on the event, cycling campaigner Ross Laird said:
“This event is a great opportunity for the public to come and have their say on the future of cycling and walking activity in their community. We’ll have some of the main cycling organisations in the area present to give an overview of current proposals. The event builds on a spate of local activities in Penicuik and Gorebridge as part of the Big Bike Revival campaign.”
