Disclosure Scotland has launched a new online self-service feature, making it simpler and more efficient for countersignatories (CSGs) to manage Protecting Groups (PVG) scheme memberships.
The update allows CSGs to remove their organisation’s interest in PVG scheme members they no longer need to monitor, directly through their Organisation Account.
The new functionality offers time savings, improved information management, greater control over safeguarding responsibilities, and increased transparency through activity tracking.
CSGs logging into their account will see a notification prompting them to review their PVG scheme member list. A new ‘scheme members’ section allows users to search for individuals and remove interest either one at a time or in bulk. All changes are tracked in an ‘activity history’ tab, providing a clear audit trail.
CSGs who need to remove interest in an individual for one specific group only — for example, where a person previously worked with both children and adults but now works with children only — should continue to contact the dedicated team at dsupdate@disclosurescotland.gov.scot.
Please note this update applies to Disclosure Scotland customers only and is not yet available for Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services (VSDS) customers.
