Disclosure Scotland’s new self-service feature is making a significant impact, with 1,290 organisations already using the tool to manage their Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme memberships more efficiently.
The update gives countersignatories (CSGs) the ability to remove their organisation’s interest in PVG scheme members they no longer need to monitor, directly through their online account. Since its launch, this function has been used more than 40,500 times, reflecting strong demand for a simpler, more streamlined process.
CSGs logging into their account will see a notification prompting them to review their PVG scheme member list. A dedicated ‘scheme members’ section allows users to search for individuals and remove interest either one at a time or in bulk, making it straightforward to keep records accurate and up to date. All changes are recorded in an ‘activity history’ tab, providing a clear audit trail for organisations.
CSGs who need to remove interest in an individual for one specific group only — for example, where a person previously worked with both children and adults but now works with children only — should continue to contact the dedicated team at dsupdate@disclosurescotland.gov.scot.
