Interested in what’s happening in Woodburn and central Dalkeith? Then come along to Dalkeith Welfare Hall on Friday 5 May from noon to 3.30pm to meet new people and get involved in improving the local area.

There will be food, stalls and the chance to make new connections at the event organised by the Living Well in Central Dalkeith and Woodburn Group.

Living Well in Central Dalkeith and Woodburn, which includes local groups as such as the Central Dalkeith and Woodburn Pantry along with Midlothian Council and the NHS, has been set up to support the health and wellbeing and reduce inequality of those living in the area.

The group is helping develop a new Local Outcome Improvement Plan (LOIP). Once the plan is agreed, the group will be working with local people, partners and community groups, to put some of the agreed community actions in place.

Its aims are:

– to improve health, wellbeing and learning outcomes

– towards no child or household living in poverty

– to progress towards net zero carbon emissions for example; reducing food waste, alternative energy, active travel, reuse, recycling and upcycling.

So if you want to have a say and get involved the come along on Friday 5 May. The hall is on St Andrew’s Street in Dalkeith, EH22 1AP.
