The Edinburgh Canal Festival this Saturday is inviting residents and visitors to explore Edinburgh’s Union Canal in a unique festival that offers free activities and entertainment.

Allowing visitors to explore the canal between Lochrin Basin and Harrison Park, the festival will allow visitors to travel along the canal, providing entertainment and activities as you travel down the canal passage in the heart of Edinburgh.

Organisations that operate all year round on the canal or near the canal will be there, allowing people to meet some of the people who make the Union Canal run.

Running from 12pm to 5pm, the Edinburgh Canal Festival is a great opportunity to explore tha canal area and take part in fun activities in the sunshine.

The festival is also hosting a letter hunt with the winning prize being a one two-hour private hire cruise on the canal for 8 people. The letter hunt consists of finding a letter at different locations around the canal that reveals the location of a much-loved local resident with answers being submitted online.

Running all day, the Edinburgh Canal Festival is a great opportunity to explore one of Edinburgh’s iconic areas with great activities and an opportunity to win a prize.
