There are two sides to volunteering – the time and energy we willing commit to someone or something, that contributes on a personal and a local level. The giving back that we all know volunteering is about. And then, there’s the hidden benefits that we rarely talk about, what we gain from giving our time; the raised confidence, new connections, improved wellbeing, and a greater sense of purpose.
Volunteering in 2026 may not have been on your radar, but as a way to improve your CV, to develop your leadership skill set, or experience the world of work from a more strategic viewpoint, it could be for you.
Here at ELCAP we are looking to expand our team of Trustee volunteers. We’re aiming for 3 or 4 new posts filled over the coming year and have identified some key
skills gaps we’d like to fill, which are:
Accountancy
Audit and risk / risk management
Marketing / and or PR
Strategic growth
As a new trustee, you don’t have to have previous experience of being on a board, but we do look for someone who is local, with possible links to social care or has an interest in equality and full-life living, and who can commit to bi-monthly meetings.
ELCAP is a Scottish Charitable care provider delivering elite-level community care based in East Lothian and Midlothian. With over 300 staff, we support the individuals we work with to live the Full Life, by living to their full potential, by living a better and more independent life. We provide community care in 30 towns and villages to over 200 individuals and also provide respite care in Dalkeith and Tranent.
If you have time and passion to support us, and the community we support, then we’d love to hear from you. Contact us on enquries@elcap.org
