Election time in Jedburgh with 12 places up for grabs

A ballot will be held next week after 16 candidates threw their hats into the ring for just 12 available places on Jedburgh Community Council.

The ballot will be held on Thursday, June 11, between 10am and 7pm.

Ballot papers and the ballot box will be available in Jedburgh Town Hall during this time.

All those on the electoral register in the Jedburgh Community Council area, who are entitled to vote in a local authority election on that day, shall be entitled to cast a vote in the ballot.

The Democratic Services Team at Scottish Borders Council will oversee the ballot. There will be no alternative of postal voting or voting by proxy and poll cards will not be issued.

Local residents should present themselves at Jedburgh Town Hall on the day in order to vote.

Each voter will be entitled to a maximum of 12 votes. The 12 seats will be filled by the 12 candidates with the highest number of votes.
