Footballs on Vogrie Golf Course

Vogrie Golf Course Entry

This spring will see the introduction of footgolf, at Vogrie Golf Course. The golf course has been struggling financially for a while so this is being introduced to help.

An 18 hole footgolf course will be set up around the existing nine hole golf course at Vogrie with the first round of footgolf anticipated to kick off mid-April.

The introduction of footgolf will see some changes to when golf will be available at the course. Footgolf will have sole use of the course on the following days from mid-April to the end of October:

Saturday – 10:30am to 3:30pm

Sunday – 11:00am to 3pm

All other days and times will see shared usage of the course with exclusive use for golfers before noon on weekdays.

During shared usage times footgolf will be set up with the same flow as the golf course ensuring that it can be fully utilised for both.

Footgolf combines aspects of both football and golf with the intent to introduce a football into a hole with a foot, in the least amount of strokes possible.

No doubt golfers will be worried about the effect of kicking a football on the fairway will have on the course and they will be concerned that prime time weekend tee-times will be unavailable, though if it secures the future of the course then it maybe begrudingly welcomed.
