The Karen Henderson Legacy Fund was launched in May 2021 following the sad passing of local Eskbank resident Karen Henderson, aged 48, and it raises monies to support The Make 2nds Count Charity, giving hope to people with Secondary Breast Cancer.

Karen’s Mum Cathy Hilton, close friend Carol Robinson and husband Alistair were delighted to present Amanda Donaldson from Make 2nds Count with a cheque for £50,000 at Restoration Yard. This represented the amount raised in the 1st year of Karen’s Legacy Fund. Louise Aylesbury from Restoration Yard (charity partners for Karen’s Legacy Fund and M2C) was on hand too for the presentation.

Alistair wanted to say “a big thank you” to everyone who has contributed in the 1st year of the fund it’s been a great achievement. Fundraising has included The 500 Mile Challenge, donations from Karen’s colleagues at HSBC, Karen’s Collection sales, half and full marathons, golf ball sales, bake and lemonade sales, raffles and auctions and some very generous donators and supporters.

The monies raised has already started to be used to help make Secondary Breast Cancer patients lives just that little bit better and happier, all with love from Karen.

Karen Henderson Legacy Fund would greatly appreciate your ongoing help with fundraising, so if you would like to donate or help fundraise please get in touch and more information can be found at the KHLF Facebook page or on Make 2nds Count website.
