Kris Chapman Liberal Democrat Midlothian

Kris Chapman has vowed to be a strong voice for the constituency holding the Government to account as he lines up to be the next Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale.

Confirmed by the Scottish Liberal Democrats as the party’s constituency candidate to contest the seat, Kris will stand up for our local communities ensuring localism and local issues get the priority they deserve.

“It is time for a change,” says Kris. “This constituency needs a new voice in the Scottish Parliament to building prosperity, and to making local services work for every resident in the Scottish Borders and Midlothian. As your MSP I will have a fresh start focussing on creating opportunities by attracting investment and jobs”.

As a Youth Worker, Kris works throughout the constituency; engaged in our communities to improve the life chances of our young people. “Education is a top priority for the Scottish Liberal Democrats, and it is a top priority for me as the key to enabling our young generation to meet its full potential,” says Kris. “Scottish Liberal Democrats have pledged to spend half a billion pounds on education so every child has the best start in life”.

“The Scottish Liberal Democrats have always been a strong voice for the Scottish Borders and Midlothian. We have stood up for our communities; fighting against the Government’s closing of our local courts, centralising of our police force and the slashing of our local authority budgets. It is time to turn that around, and the first step is for everyone to vote twice for the Scottish Liberal Democrats this May.”

Lord Purvis of Tweed commenting on the selection of Kris Chapman said:

“I am delighted that Kris has been selected as the candidate. I have known him many years, and worked alongside him. He is young, enthusiastic, committed and energetic – exactly what is needed to refresh the seat after 5 years of SNP stagnation.

Kris is also compassionate and will understand the needs of local people. He is known to many in Tweeddale and beyond for his work with young people and I know that supporting the future generation here in Midlothian South and the Borders is close to his heart. He will make an excellent MSP.”

This May, if you want your community to reflect the way you want to live, vote Scottish Liberal Democrat, twice.
