Nick McMechan, of Esk Valley Dog Training is holding a free seminar at One Dalkeith on 9th November.

Reactivity is usually a fear-based response from dogs to their triggers, usually other dogs but it can be cats, cars and even people. It is often misunderstood and the internet can be a minefield, leading many owners to taking courses of action which can in fact make the situation worse. In some cases, the advice on social media can be dangerous, in that it can lead to actual aggression in the long term.

Owners of reactive dog owners often feel frustrated, upset and overwhelmed. It can be hard on the dog and hard on the owner. The Seminar will help dog owners understand their dog’s reactivity and will share key first steps to reduce the issue. Importantly there will be an opportunity to ask Nick questions to gain vital insights into their dog and understand how to fix their dog’s issues using reward-based training.

Spaces will be limited for the event which will take place at One Dalkeith, 21 Eskdaill Court, Dalkeith, EH22 1AG at 6pm on Thursday 9th November 2023. To book your place contact Nick at Esk Valley Dog Training or visit or book your free place here.
