Midlothian Conservative and Unionist Association have announced their candidates for the 2022 Local Government Elections on May 5th.

Chairman Katherine Reid said:

“I am very excited to present such a dynamic and enthusiastic group of candidates to the local communities across Midlothian. Our Conservative team bring a perfect balance of experience and new energy to the challenges that face Midlothian, with experience from existing councillors complemented by our four new candidates who bring a wealth of business, project management, service skills sectors and life experience gained running businesses, in the public sector, running food banks and caring for family.

“We remain focused on the challenges that face our local residents and pledge to continue the work of the last group of Conservative Councillors and hold the SNP Government and Local Labour Administration to account. All our candidates are firmly focused on serving their communities.

“Local residents know that Conservatives in Midlothian will put their interests first and represent their views in the community and in the council chamber.”

The Midlothian Conservative and Unionist candidates are:

Ward 1 – Penicuik: Richard (Rick) Thomson

Ward 2 – Bonnyrigg: David Virgo

Ward 3 – Dalkeith: Mark Wells

Ward 4 – Midlothian West: Pauline Winchester

Ward 5 – Midlothian East: Peter Smaill

Ward 6 – Midlothian South: Rob Stenhouse
