The launch of The Mark Williams Foundation has raised an extraordinary £102,634, marking a powerful beginning for the charity established to honour the legacy of Mark Williams, late CEO of The NWH Group, by supporting families in crisis and empowering young people to build brighter futures.

The official launch event, recently hosted at The National Museum of Scotland, brought together friends, supporters and community partners who share the Foundation’s vision of fairness, opportunity and resilience.

The funds raised will directly support:

– Four families in securing fair access to both parents, ensuring children are not denied vital family relationships.

– Twenty-two young entrepreneur apprentices, providing them with access to mentorship, training and life-changing opportunities to start their own businesses.

Nicola Williams, Founder of The Mark Williams
Foundation, said:

“The response has been truly overwhelming. Raising more than £100,000 at our very first fundraising event is beyond anything we imagined — it shows how deeply people connect with the cause and with Mark’s legacy. These funds will make a tangible difference right away, helping families in crisis and supporting young entrepreneurs who simply need a chance to prove what they can do. This is only the beginning, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has chosen to walk this journey with us.”

The event featured a series of inspirational speakers, heartfelt stories and performances that reflected the Foundation’s two missions — strengthening families and fostering entrepreneurship. Nicola extended thanks to all speakers, suppliers and guests who contributed to the success of the evening.

While the launch marks a major milestone, the Foundation is now focused on building long-term partnerships to expand its impact. It is calling on individuals and organisations to get involved by:

– Mentoring or hosting an apprentice. Register interest here.

– Collaborating through family law partnerships. Referrals can be made here.

Nicola added: “We want The Mark Williams Foundation to stand for fairness, hope and opportunity — for families and young people alike. Together, we’re building a legacy that honours Mark’s values and helps others rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.”

Colin Robertson CBE, chairman of The NWH Group, spoke at The Mark Williams Foundation launch event. He said: “Mark Williams embodied the true spirit of entrepreneurship — bold, generous and relentlessly driven to make a difference. He showed that success isn’t about privilege or pedigree, but passion, hard work and an unshakeable belief in possibility. Through the Mark Williams Foundation, we honour not only his remarkable achievements in business, but also his compassion, his integrity, and his commitment to helping others find their own path. Mark believed that if he could do it, so could anyone with the right encouragement — and that’s the legacy we’re determined to carry forward.”

The Mark Williams Foundation was created in memory of Mark Williams to support families struggling to access both parents during separation, and to empower young people through entrepreneurship. The Foundation works with community partners, family law professionals, and business mentors to create practical, life-changing opportunities that restore balance, build confidence, and strengthen futures.
