With times tough as the country battles the ongoing cost of living crisis, Dalkeith-based Melville Housing Association has made festive donations totalling £4,500 to organisations that help struggling households.

Eight organisations, spread across Midlothian and beyond, have each received cheques to help with their work tackling poverty over the busy festive period; they are:

– Aberlour Child Care Trust

– Clydesdale Foodbank

– Edinburgh and Lothian Trust Fund (ELTF)

– Mayfield Pantry

– Midlothian Foodbank

– Newbattle Storehouse

– Penicuik Foodbank

– Woodburn Pantry
