Police Scotland Crime Beat Report for Midlothian

Midlothian Crime Beat for period between Monday 15th and Sunday 21st August 2022.

For the last few weeks this report has only covered the eastern side of Midlothian. It is hoped that the western side of Midlothian will be included soon.

Dalkeith

A 46 year old male was arrested and charged in connection with a break-in to business premises in High Street, Dalkeith on Tuesday 16th August. The male was held in custody to appear at court on 22nd August.

On Friday 19th August officers were carrying out patrols when they observed a vehicle being driven in Newbattle Road, Dalkeith without insurance. A 32 year old male was cautioned and charged in connection with the incident. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Around 12.50pm on Saturday 20th August officers observed a vehicle being driven in Dalkeith High Street without insurance. A 36 year old female was charged in connection with having no insurance. A further female was cautioned and charged in connection with causing and permitting the vehicle to be driven without valid insurance. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A 32 year old male was cautioned and charged in connection with careless driving after being involved in a road traffic collision on the A6106 on Saturday 20th August where one of the occupants required hospital treatment. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Newtongrange and Mayfield

A 37 year old male was arrested and charged in connection with driving a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of alcohol in the Dalhousie Road area of Newtongrange on Saturday 20th August. The male was released to appear at court at a later date.
