Police Scotland Crime Beat Report for Midlothian

Midlothian Crime Beat for period between Monday 12th September and Sunday 25th September 2022.

Dalkeith

Around 5.15pm on Monday 19th September a female is reported to have entered shop premises at Thorny Crook Gardens and stolen items. Police are following a positive line of enquiry.

Around 7.05pm on Tuesday 20th September a theft of fuel was reported at a garage at Fordel Road, Dalkeith. Enquiries are ongoing.

On Tuesday 20th September officers were requested to attend Eskdaill Street in relation to a female reported to be under the influence. The female who was traced safe and well was found to be wanted on warrant. She was subsequently arrested and held in custody to appear at court.

Around 5.40pm on Wednesday 21st September, a theft of fuel was reported at a garage at Fordel Road, Dalkeith. Enquiries are ongoing.

On Wednesday 21st September a black Honda motorbike previously reported stolen from out with the local area was recovered near to the Whitehill area of Dalkeith. Enquiries are ongoing.

Newtongrange/Mayfield

Between 1pm and 8pm on Monday 19th September an attempt was made to gain entry to a property in Larch Crescent, Mayfield. No entry was gained. Enquiries are ongoing.

Between 8am and 2pm on Wednesday 21st September a Kia Sportage parked on Park Road, Newtongrange was struck by another vehicle, which failed to stop. Enquiries are ongoing.

On Wednesday 21st September a warrant was executed by funded Midlothian Community Action Team officers at an address in Mayfield where drugs were found. Enquiries are ongoing.

Around 11pm on Saturday 24th September officers on patrol observed a male acting suspiciously within a vehicle near to Newbattle Road in Newtongrange. As officers went to stop the vehicle, which was subsequently found to be stolen the male alighted and made off. Enquiries are ongoing.

Gorebridge

Between 7.35 pm and 7.45pm on Tuesday 20th September a blue Ford Fiesta parked within a carpark at Hunterfield Road was struck by another vehicle, which subsequently drove off. Enquiries are ongoing.

Bonnyrigg

On Monday 12th September a driver was charged in connection with careless driving following a road traffic collision on the A6094 at Rosewell. A report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

About 1.25am on Tuesday 13th September 2022, business premises in High Street Bonnyrigg were broken into and items stolen from within. Enquiries are ongoing to establish those involved.

Loanhead

About 1.25am on Tuesday 13th September 2022, business premises in Clerk Street, Loanhead were broken into and goods stolen from within. Enquiries are ongoing.

On Thursday 15th September 2022, officers stopped a vehicle being driven on the A701 near Loanhead. The driver who was subsequently arrested in connection with driving whilst under the influence of cannabis was also found to be in possession of Class B Drugs. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Saturday 17th September 2022, a report was received of a vehicle being driven in a careless manner causing a cyclist to nearly fall off their bike. The driver of the vehicle was traced in connection with the incident and issued with a conditional offer.
