Police Scotland Crime Beat Report for Midlothian

Midlothian Crime Beat for period between Monday 18th and Sunday 24th July 2022.

Dalkeith

On Tuesday 19th July 2022 Police stopped a vehicle in the Eskbank Road area of Dalkeith, which on approaching officers noticed had a smell of cannabis emanating from it. The 30 year old male driver was subsequently found to be in possession of a small quantity of cannabis and issued with a recorded police warning.

On Friday 22nd July 2022, a 35 year old male was charged in connection with dangerous driving after failing to observe height restrictions and colliding with a low bridge in the Danderhall area. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Friday 22nd July 2022, a 26 year male driver was charged in connection with dangerous driving following a Road Traffic collision on London Road, Dalkeith. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Newtongrange/Mayfield

A 45 year old male was arrested and charged in connection with various offences including theft of a motor vehicle and theft from a motor vehicle in Mayfield on Thursday 21st July. The male was thereafter held in custody to appear at court.

Gorebridge

Sometime between 11pm on Sunday 17th July and 8am on Monday 18th July a Ford C-Max parked on Birkenside Road was damaged. Enquiries are ongoing.

Sometime between 8pm on Monday 18th July and 10.30am on Tuesday 19th July a silver Kia Ceed parked on Swan Crescent was damaged. Enquiries are ongoing.
