Midlothian restaurants Itihaas and Radhuni have helped local football clubs Bonnyrigg Rose and Penicuik Athletic achieve their goals by concluding new sponsorship deals.

The multi award-winning Bangladeshi-Indian restaurants in Dalkeith and Loanhead are longstanding supporters of local sporting and other organisations.

Bonnyrigg Rose’s promotion to Division Two of the Scottish Football League two years ago has meant it is incurring additional costs competing at the higher level so Chairman Charlie Kirkwood said the club was even more dependent on sponsorship.

“It’s great to have Itihaas and Radhuni back on board,” he commented. “They’ve stayed with us through thick and thin and it’s particularly pleasing to have such well known sponsors who are also pillars of the local community.”

The deal will see Radhuni featured on the back of Penicuik Athletic’s home and away strips for all three sides: the men’s team competing in the Premier Division of the East of Scotland League, the under-20’s in the East Conference and its newly formed women’s team who play in the East division of the Scottish Women’s Football League.

Club President Andy Penman said: “We’re very grateful for this support. It means a lot to management and players, and is a great motivation for the year ahead.”

The restaurants’ Managing Partner Habibur Khan, commented: “We’re with local sport all the way, from grassroots to teams playing in the higher echelons of Scottish football. Sport of all kinds offers opportunities to keep fit and healthy while making new friends.”
