Midlothian Raiders take 2nd place
Written by Midlothian View Reporter, Liam Eunson
The Midlothian Raiders have capped off an outstanding inaugural campaign by finishing second in Lothian League Division 4, a remarkable achievement for a team competing in its first ever season.
After a year of steady growth, resilience, and increasingly dominant performances, the Raiders closed out the regular season with a 12–6 record, firmly establishing themselves as one of the top teams in the league. Their rise up the standings has been built on a combination of disciplined defence, fast-paced offence, and a squad that has continued to develop chemistry with every game.
Finishing second not only reflects the consistency the Raiders have shown across the season, but also puts them in a strong position heading into the post-season playoffs, where silverware is still very much within reach.
The playoff bracket now sees the Raiders matched up against Polonia/Pleasance Masters in the quarter-finals, with a potential path toward the final that includes some of the league’s strongest sides. With momentum on their side and confidence high, the Raiders will be aiming to carry their regular season form into the knockout stages.
This season has already marked a significant milestone for the club — but the focus now shifts firmly to the playoffs, where the opportunity to turn a historic debut season into a title-winning one remains alive.
