Murrayfield Ice Rink are holding a vinyl record sale and auction this Saturday, selling their large collection of vinyls that they play to skaters.
Collecting a vast collection of vinyl’s over the years, Murrayfield Ice Rink are hosting a large sale at the arena, giving the public a chance to buy the records that have been used to entertain skaters and audiences for years.
Within the auction, there will be 12”, 10” and 7” vinyl alongside, promotional vinyl copies, DJ pressings, advance copies, posters and picture discs. Covering a wide variety of genres, including punk, metal, dance, R & B and many more, the vast collection includes a large amount of rare older records.
The catalogue of listings is available here and includes many rare collectable records including an original 12” single of Joy Divion’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’.
The auction is hosted by Marrayfield Ice Rink and Thomson Roddick Callan Auctioneers and Valuers with the auction available to attend in person on Saturday from 10:30am or available for bidding online at www.thomsonroddick.com and www.easyliveauction.com.
BBC Visual Radio Producer Derek Knight posted to Bluesky about the event, saying, “Murrayfield Ice Rink in Edinburgh are selling their enormous vinyl collection that they built up over the years to play to skaters. Every Top 40 single for decades! Incredible collection. Worth taking a look as if you’re a vinyl junkie, it’s a poper piece of history.”
The in-person sale and auction will begin at 10:30am at the ice rink and will last over 4 hours, giving the public an opportunity to get their hands on collectables and popular vinyls that are decades old with Murrayfield Ice Rink giving up their vast collection, allowing music fanatics and fans of vinyl a chance to get their hands on iconic records that have been played at the arena for years.
