Communities, Lifelong Learning and Employability (CLLE) published their 2024/25 Annual Report, showcasing the service’s wide range of projects which are supporting Midlothian residents and communities.
CLLE supports individuals, families and communities by providing youth work, adult and family learning, employability support, and partners with communities to deliver community development projects.
The latest annual report highlighted five key successes:
– 510 projects delivered across 12 towns and villages, reaching 5,779 people through a wide range of services.
– Supported 48 community groups through 254 activities.
– Parental Employability Support Project helped 475 parents to build skills and find new opportunities.
– 118 young people took part in CLLE supported Modern Apprenticeships gaining real-world experience, qualifications and a boost to their early career journey.
– Supported 225 young people to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh programme – an 18% increase on last year.
Overall, learners who completed a CLLE survey reported a 99.3% satisfaction rate, with 98.35% reporting they had improved their skills.
In the report, Annette Lang, Group Service Manager for the Community Planning Partnership and Communities, Lifelong Learning and Employability, said:
“In the last year our focus on practical learning, qualifications, industry partnerships and enhancing employability skills has resonated strongly with our learners and our local communities in Midlothian.”
“Looking ahead we are excited to build on our momentum and continue to provide the highest standard with the resources we have for youth work, adult and family learning, employability and community development in Midlothian.”
