Albany House in Edinburgh is being converted into a 102 room Hub by Premier Inn hotel.

A new hotel inside what was once a New Town office building has been granted a premises licence, allowing it to serve alcohol after it opens.
Albany House, off Broughton Street, is currently in the process of being converted into a Hub by Premier Inn hotel.
The hotel chain’s Hub line offers small, no-frills rooms, usually at lower costs than those in its mainline locations.
At Monday’s Licensing Board meeting, solicitors for Whitbread PLC, which owns the chain, asked for a new premises licence to cover the property.
Councillors approved standard licensing conditions for it, with a condition that amplified music and vocals not be an audible nuisance to nearby residential properties.
The licence will come into effect when construction is completed and appropriately certified.
Built in the 1980s, Albany House was designed to blend in with the Georgian townhouses which surround it.
Most of the external structure of the building will be preserved, with the facade of the top floor replaced.
It is set to contain 102 bedrooms, as well as a lounge and dining space for guests.
Previously, the firm said it would be completed by summer 2027, but a licensing solicitor at the Monday meeting said it could possibly be finished by the end of this year.
The solicitor added that works were to begin imminently, if they had not already begun.
Albany House previously hosted the offices of a law firm, which moved to new premises off Lothian Road earlier this year.
Three other Hub by Premier Inn locations currently exist in Edinburgh, with one at Haymarket, one on Rose Street and a third on the Royal Mile.
