A new venture being woven into Selkirk’s retail offer is to open its doors for the first time this weekend.

Excitement has been growing in the town for weeks over the new outlet, The Fabric Hub, located at 18-20 West Port.

The brainchild of Karen Smith the Fabric Hub is designed as a friendly space for anyone who loves to make, create, or just unwind with a cuppa.

A warm and welcoming space for creativity in Selkirk it will be a haven for people who sew, knit, craft, or just love beautiful materials and a good natter.

The shop will offer new and vintage fabrics and wool, haberdashery essentials, creative workshops, 3D printing and heat press customising.

It will be officially opened by Selkirk Independent councillor Caroline Cochrane with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10am on Saturday, March 28.

Caroline said: “The Fabric Hub is a fantastic new addition to our town, focused on creativity and bringing people together through sewing and crafts.

“It’s always wonderful to see new local businesses opening their doors and adding to the vibrancy of our community.

“If you’re around on Saturday morning, please do come along and show your support.”

The shop was formerly Flower Expressions for 16 years.

Its owner Sandra Shafto relocated her business to 40 Market Place last year.
