SGN have completed the repairs to the damaged gas main over the weekend. Their teams will remain onsite this week, carrying out reinstatement work and clearing up the area in which they’ve been working.
Newbattle Road remains temporarily closed between the roundabout at Newbattle Gardens and Galadale Drive. A signed diversion route is in place. Access is being maintained to Newbattle Abbey Crescent and the surrounding properties, and all businesses are open as usual.
They are aiming to complete their remaining work and fully reopen Newbattle Road by Friday evening.
