3,356 shows will be featured at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe as the 2025 programme is released.
As the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe programme was released on the 3rd of June, 1,564 more shows will be featured than last year. Almost doubling the amount of shows, the number of performances has grown from 1,792 in 2024 to 3,356 in 2025.
These shows will be permormed across 265 venues, featuring performers from 58 countries. The themes will tackle a vast amount of topics, from a variety of genres, displaying the usual fun and powerful nature of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Comedy, music, dance, theatre, children’s shows, magic and so much more, will be available from the 1st to 25th of August. Introducing new venues, this year shows are performed at the Portobello Town Hall and Hibernian FC’s stadium, Easter Road.
On the release of the 2025 programme, Tony Lankester, Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, said, “This year’s Fringe programme is filled with every kind of performance, so whether you’re excited for theatre or circus, or the best of comedy, music, dance, children’s shows, magic or cabaret; get ready to dare to discover this August.”
Popular shows returning this year include, Trainspotting Live at Pleasance, Xhloe and Natasha at theSpaceUK, alongside many more favourites.
Many new shows have been introduced to the catalogue of performances and with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025 almost doubling the performances from 2024, it is set to be an entertaining month in Edinburgh.
