This week marks the 10-year anniversary of the plastic bag charge in Scotland’s stores. The government introduced a minimum charge of 5p, pushing the use of re- usable bags in an attempt to improve the amount of plastic bags littered in our environment.

When the charge began in 2014, the government introduced the charge to improve Scotland’s environment with paying for a plastic bag becoming a normal part of our shopping life.
