Public exhibition and consultation on Dalkeith town centre

Friday November 13th 2015

Dalkeith - Jarnac Court

A public exhibition and consultation on design proposals for the future of Dalkeith town centre will take place in the town at the end of November. It’s the latest stage in a community consultation organised by Midlothian Council as part of a detailed feasibility study into the potential regeneration of the area surrounded by High Street, Buccleuch Street and South Street.

A series of meetings and workshop sessions were held over the summer, involving councillors, community councillors, local residents, traders and other stakeholders. The information gathered has been used to produce design proposals for the town centre. The eventual aim is to develop a viable scheme for the area’s regeneration, with options for commercial, leisure and retail use, as well as for housing and civic buildings.

Council representatives and members of the design team will be available to discuss the proposals in the shop premises at 95 High Street, Dalkeith (on the junction with Edinburgh Road) on Thursday November 26 from 3 to 8pm; Friday November 27 from 10am to 4pm and Saturday November 28 from 10am to 1pm. Just pop in between any of these times.
