Carriageway resurfacing works will take place in Dirleton Avenue, North Berwick, between Dirleton Court and Links Road.
Work on the improvements by East Lothian Council will start on Monday, 3 November and take around three weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The road will be closed to vehicular traffic from Monday to Friday for the duration and reopen at weekends. The weekday closures are to ensure the safety of both road workers and users in accordance with health and safety requirements.
A signed local diversion route will be put in place via Fidra Road and York Road.
Hamilton Road, South Hamilton Road and Ware Road will also be closed at their junctions with Dirleton Avenue for periods during this time. These closures will be clearly signed in advance.
A council spokesperson said:
“These essential works will be carried out in phases to minimise disruption and provide local access for residents where practicable.
“Emergency vehicle and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.”
