Due to popular demand a ‘Scam Van’ will be back out on tour in the Borders next week.

The tour is organised by Scottish Borders Council’s (SBC) Trading Standards team and will be at locations across the region between October 1-4.

The Scam Van will provide residents another opportunity to receive valuable guidance from teams at SBC and gain insight into identifying current scams and how to avoid these. Attendees will also have access to support and resources within their own community.

The Scam Van will be at the following locations from 10am to 1pm:

– Tuesday 1 October – Tavern Pub, Eyemouth
– Wednesday 2 October – Mayfield Garden Centre, Kelso
– Thursday 3 October – Tesco, Galashiels
– Friday 4 October – Heart of Hawick

Councillor Robin Tatler, SBC’s executive member for Public Safety and Resilience, said:
“It is fantastic that following the success of the Scam Van Tour in May we are able to bring it back to the Borders.

“This is an excellent opportunity to raise awareness and I would encourage everyone to visit the van, especially residents that missed the tour earlier in the year, as it offers valuable insights and tools to help protect yourself and the wider community.”
