Former Police Scotland Superintendent Dr Martin Gallagher will be the guest speaker at tomorrow’s West Lothian Chamber of Commerce Keynote Lunch.
The hugely experienced security expert will address local business leaders at the event at the Norton House Hotel in Edinburgh.
During a long and distinguished career, Dr Gallagher was also a crisis leader at the G8, London Olympics and COP26, is a bestselling author and regular commentator for national broadcasters.
Delivering powerful, practical insights from three decades of frontline leadership, his speech will focus on “Leading Through Crisis: What CounterTerrorism and HighRisk Policing Teach Today’s Business Leaders”.
Hi is widely recognised as an expert in his field and West Lothian Chamber of Commerce chief executive Linda Scott said: “Martin is a former Police Scotland Superintendent whose 30 year career spanned intelligence operations, serious crime investigation, and leadership in some of the UK’s most highpressure environments.
“He played key roles in major national events including the G8 Summit, the London Olympics, COP26, and the merger of Scotland’s police forces. As Area Commander of Paisley, he led Scotland’s largest town through complex organisational and operational challenges, and successfully delivered major technology transformation projects.
“Martin now works internationally as an expert witness and leads a major campaigning group for retired emergency service personnel.
“We are truly honoured to have him as our keynote speaker and I’m very much looking forward to hearing what he is going to share with us from a storied career.”
Dr Gallagher, who set up his current business Kilmailing Consultancy three years ago, has been recognised with three commendations for personal bravery, has served internationally as a leadership mentor in Southeast Asia and has gone on to support criminal investigations across Africa and in the United States as an expert witness.
Holding a PhD in Criminology and two Masters degrees in Terrorism Studies and Criminal Justice Studies, Martin has authored more than 70 publications, including his 2024 book Terror for Profit. He also leads The Job’s Forgotten, a 600strong group of retired emergency services personnel whose campaigning has secured significant financial redress for its members.
