Southside School of Dance is celebrating its remarkable success with first and second place wins at the Destination Dance National Final last week.
The competition was captivated by Southside School of Dance’s rising stars as they showcased their talent, dedication, and artistry, earning them the coveted first and second place awards for the Junior team routines ‘Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend’ and ‘Happy Ending’ and the Senior team pieces ‘Inception’, and ‘Stand Up’.
Destination Dance is the UK’s premiere dance competition where dance schools from all over the world compete for trophies, prizes and scholarships to some of the UK’s most reputable dance colleges. The competition included 48 dance schools and over 650 dancers all of whom have qualified at regional competitions to be at the finals. In the face of such a talented field, Southside School of Dance’s students from Dalkeith, Bonnyrigg and The Borders demonstrated their commitment and artistry, leaving an indelible impression on the judges, audience, and family supporters.
The remarkable success of these talented students is a testament to the exceptional training and nurturing environment provided by Southside School of Dance. With the support of I.S.T.D. qualified instructors passionate about the growth of each individual dancer, and a curriculum that combines classical technique with contemporary artistry, the school has consistently produced dancers able to shine on any stage.
Louise Squires, the Principal/Director of Southside School of Dance, expressed great pride and admiration for the achievements of their students.
“We are overjoyed to witness the success of our students at this competition. It is just a joy to see how the dedication and hard work of the instructors and dancers pays off in a national event like this. We congratulate them on their well-deserved triumph and look forward to seeing them continue to flourish on their dance journeys.”
