Volunteer-Midlothian-Feb-2023

Volunteer Midlothian held a recruitment fair in Dalkeith to attract locals to investigate volunteering opportunities with 25 different organisations. The event was held on the 9th of February at St John’s and Kings Park Church in Dalkeith.

The volunteer involving organisations included Penicuik Storehouse, Mary’s Meals, Active Schools and Ageing Well. The fair proved popular and was attended by around 140 people. Stallholders had a busy time explaining the opportunities available and the chance to develop the volunteers’ own skills as well as help others. People enjoyed having an in-person event again following the restrictions of the pandemic and the stallholders benefited from the chance to network with each other.

Attendees also enjoyed free refreshments provided by the team from Mayfield and Easthouses Development Trust.

Volunteer Midlothian intend to hold this fair annually, next year it will be in February 2024. In the meantime, you can visit their website to explore other opportunities at www.thirdsectormidlothian.org.uk or call 0131 660 1216.
