When assessing Hibernian’s performance in the Edinburgh Derby, Hibs’ captain Martin Boyle said ‘We’re masters of our own downfall’ in regard to the goal they conceded late on.

Furthermore he said that they need to ‘stop the source’ as he agreed that it’s the Leith side’s own fault for losing the game, saying that the team recognise they’ve ‘conceded a lot of late goals this season.’

When asked whether the squad has been strengthened by the new signings coming in, Boyle replied ‘absolutely’, saying that they have been ‘really good’ showing that Hibs should improve over the next few weeks as the new boys settle in.

He finished by stating that Hibs have ‘got to’ finish in the top four and that they are pushing for European football.

Ultimately, the captain seemed very disappointed after the result, saying that there were ‘probably not’ any positives from the encounter at Tynecastle but the team will ‘digest this’ and whilst a win this Saturday wouldn’t ‘make up for it’ it will put the team ‘back in the right direction.’
