The Bill Russell Woodburn Youth Project (BRWYP) have received a donation of £5k from the local police.

The cheque was presented by Superintendent Angus Macinnes, Area Commander Arron Clinkscales and PC Rona Duncan to some of the young people who will benefit from this very generous donation.

Local Labour Councillor, Margot Russell, who is coordinator of the BRWYP, was delighted to accept on behalf of the group. She explained:

“We are a very small charity operating in the Woodburn area working with Young People and this money will be split with the 3 elements of the BRWYP, the Art Club, the Drop In Club and the Bike Workshop allowing them to continue to support a service to the community.”

The money comes from the Police Scotland Partnership Fund, which is money allocated by Police Scotland to every Division to help them work with their partners in the community.
