It only takes a second to make a difference to someone, so today is the day to do it. World Kindness Day is just one day in the year to remind ourselves to be kind to others. We don’t have to be go out of our way, in fact small acts of kindness can come from a smile, moving out of the way of someone rushing, paying a compliment, or even just listening to someone’s story.
World Kindness Day is an annual event that encourages us all to practice kindness and to take a moment to be more caring, thoughtful, and understanding. By being kind to others, in turn we are being good to ourselves. In fact, that warm feeling that we get when we do something nice for someone is the release of oxytocin, the social bond hormone that creates connection, and dopamine, the hormone that gives us a sense of pleasure and makes us feel good.
There are many ways you can bring a bit more empathy and compassion into your day. And to help you with some ideas, then why not play our Kindness Bingo.
How to Play:
1. Cut out numbers 1 to 20, or ask someone who is a whizz with technology to create a number spinning wheel.
2. Pick or spin and see what act of Kindness you are going to do today.
3. Repeat with the rest of your team and family.
4. Oh, and even better, why not come up with your own version of Kindness Acts.
