Kevin Smith took charge of Rose’s William Hill Scottish League 2 meeting against Michael McIndoe’s Edinburgh City. Smith made three changes to the previous week’s side at Spartans.
The first half did not present many opportunities for either team, with very few chances arising. The most notable efforts came from Kerr Young and Mark Ferrie for Rose, while Innes Lawson and Jason Jarvis threatened for Edinburgh City.
The second half started promisingly for Rose as Malik Zaid was sent off for Edinburgh City in the 58th minute. However, Keiran McGachie was shown a second yellow card in the 75th minute, leaving both sides with ten men.
In the 86th minute, Cammy Ross was given his marching orders, shifting the momentum against Rose. City capitalized in the dying moments, with James Stokes scoring the decisive goal.
The Rose faithful will now look ahead to next week’s home fixture against Stirling Albion.
