Bonnyrigg Rose Graduation Main

The very successful Bonnyrigg Rose Football Academy held its first graduation ceremony this week.

The Academy is part of the Bonnyrigg Rose Community club and this week the first boys to complete three years in the Academy have graduated. The players born in 2007 have spent the last three years learning, training and playing football. Coached by Scottish FA trained coaches they have trained once a week and played each Saturday in the fun 4s or Super 5s as part of the East of Scotland Soccer Development Association (ESSDA).

Bonnyrigg Rose Football Academy director Dave Kelly said, “It is great to see the players graduate from the Academy. We have 50 players in each year and it is great that so many have completed the three years in the Academy. I now wish them luck as they go onto play 7 a-side matches this season.”

The Academy has 150 players at any one time and now with the 2007s graduating it is due to welcome the new players in the 2010s in March.
