In what must be a football rarity a linesmen got sent off in the match between Broxburn and Bonnyrigg Rose. For reasons unknown the referee elected not to use the two allocated linesmen but instead chose a representative from each side to run the line. However, each ‘linesman’ was not allowed to decide on offsides as the referee said he would decide. Perhaps inevitably both sides scored goals that looked suspiciously offside with Broxburn official Jim Provan then sent off for contesting a decision. The match ended with a 3-2 win for Bonnyrigg Rose.
